Its been a while and there's so much that has happened. But first, we'd like to send our best wishes to you and yours and hope that you are all sensing God's presence in your lives!
Update on Jake
Overall, he is happy, active, and always a blessing to everyone he meets. He still walks with a significant limp and needs constant supervsion to keep him safe and on track.
Jake has been attending Eagles Peak Charter School in Murrieta. He goes 3 days a week for 2 hours, with some therapy on site afterwards. He loves it!!! We'll be meeting with his educational team in Nov. so we can get hopefully his class time and therapy increased.
The surgery on Jake's left hand/wrist in August initially went well, but his brain kind of took back over and his hand is back to its original condition. This is a setback, but we're already looking at some other options. We'll keep you posted. The Bioness e-stimulator for his left leg is working rather well and we can see some improvement in his gait.
In general, we're always looking for better options for Jake and hope you will be praying for him!
To put it briefly, we're happy, but very tired! Its been over 3 years now and the pace has never really slowed. Jake's care is 24/'7 and many times simply takes a toll. . Our days our very full and its bery difficult to take time to do "normal" things. We do make some time for each other, so that helps a little.
As for you, our dear friends, we want yo to know that we still pray for you. As Christians, we've always known that the life we are now living is not really our own. -as it says in I Corinthinas 5:14-15: "For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. "
We know this more than ever as it is clear that we lack the strength on our own to walk this walk. There are days when we look back and see that we've barely breathed even the most simplest of prayers and yet He continues to work! How could that be? Isn't our faith all about our performance each day, making sure to read our bibles a lot, pray a lot. Yes, those things are important and does bear on our fellowship with Him, but no matter what, our relationship with Him is intact. How refreshing it is to know, especially in these turbulent times, that it is really all about Him and how He carries us through each day. And we hope and pray that no matter what circumstance you find yourselves in, that you know that He can and will carry you! Just let Him!
